Time and Punishment [UPDATED]

SCENE FOUR

INT. OUTSIDE- DR. WALTER’S OFFICE

DANIEL and SARAH are walking outside and down the building’s steps. DANIEL is carrying his CANVAS.



DANIEL smiles and then watches as SARAH trips and falls onto the steps. He leans forward to help her and drops the CANVAS. He stares down at the CANVAS and sees the painting on it. He looks from it to SRAH who is still on the ground.



DANIEL helps her up and then grabs his painting.



The shot changes to DANIEL sitting in his house and looking at the painting of a woman on a building’s steps and a man standing near her.



Shot changes to DANIEL who is sitting and watching TV. He is watching a program about “Time”. He stares at it strangely and the shot cuts to black.

DANIEL awakes and walks around to the bathroom. He walks back to his bed to see another canvas, another painting. He sees a new painting of a broken phone. He walks toward it in amazement.

SHOT changes to hours later where DANIEL welcomes SARAH into the house.



SARAH examines the painting and smiles strangely.



SARAH tries to call using the phone when DANIEL rips it out of her hands and throws it down. He turns awkwardly and sees that the phone is broken. He then looks up at his painting, examining the identical scenes before him. SARAH bends down to pick up the phone pieces.



DANIEL exits the room, leaving SARAH alone. Shot changes to a library where a librarian is carefully watching DANIEL who is wandering around the shelves.



The LIBRARIAN turns to get the books while DANIEL stares into the distance.

I don't know honestly when I'd be able to write my idea out. It'd have to be after school through out the week

I think a good idea would be if there was some guy who woke up and everything was backwards, his life was different and everything he reads and sees is backwards.

Almost like this one movie I saw where this guy woke up and it was the same day, every day! Weird...

No, I'd commented once or twice on how I was catching up to Mike; but I never intentionally made unnecessary posts to surpass him.

And Mike, I don't see where you're coming from with this, "They aren't different" thing.

Ok I was just beading around the bush: Nick's idea sucked!

There are some similar qualities but they are different. For instance, mines not about a repeat of the same day over and over again.
Well Mike, lets hear you idea then cause I don't really want your opinion if your not going to show us an idea about a story.

I've got an idea. Brief summary follows:

Set 800 years in the future. A boy desperately seeks the ability to die due to his pessimistic view of Humanity and the "evil" he see's them as (note:800 years in the future, no one dies; they simply transfer your memories and intelligence into one of your clone bodies that are frozen until your previous body gives out). The second chapter gets the story started when it is revealed that the boy is on his 5th clone body at only the age of 17. His mother, doesn't think he understands life and tries to persuade him that with the eternity science can give him, he'll grow to want nothing but life.

The book follows him from his suicidal beginnings through his adventures in the galaxy where he experiences all life can give him. When given the chance(at some point, an ultimate antagonist is revealed), he chooses to sacrifice his life to save the beauty of life for all those others alive, and so in death, he'll remember everything as beautiful as it was at first experience, not dull and normal as they would become over the course of eternal life.

When this is revealed to his mother, after they recover his body, by his friend Karn, she decides not to revive him.

This story draws heavily upon "The Orion's Arm Experiment" universe, but is not set in the same reality.
