Yeah, last episode was pretty good. However, I felt that it built up to a cool ending but it wa a bit of a let down...

I liked the episode. I don't think it was that much of a let down. Though I knew that Sam was going to use his mind powers. I like the zombies. And Samhain was cool too. Plus we're seeing a new side to the angels.

Last episode- "Wishful Thinking". Meh?...I really don't know what to say. The teddy-bear was hilarious and the super-powered kid was cool. It's just...it was kind o0f lame. It's annoying that they keep resorting to "weekly monster hunts" when there is a really cool storyline that needs to be addressed. (I.e. Angels vs. Lucifer) It was an okay episode. Though, not enough focus on the nerd...I think they should of had more development with him. But, Dean remembering hell was a plus. So yeah...it was okay.

It's the mainstream story line's that loses the majority of their fans. It was the same thing that happened to X-Files; when they switched from weekly mythology/supernatural story's, to "what's up with Mulder?" they lost a lot of people.
Many fans were displeased that they switched the format of Supernatural to have almost every episode engrossed in a lengthy story arch.

Actually it doesn't make a lick of sense. That may have been so with The X-files, but not this show. Even in the weekly monster hunts in season one; there was a main plot which drove it. The brothers wanted to find their father and each hunt was a clue towards reaching him. Soon on, until they meet up with him and the whole demon/colt thing came in. Season two was more based towards stopping Sam's abilities with a few weekly monster hunts thrown in, but mostly hunts that involved Azazeal somehow. Until they killed him and psychic kids and whatev. These two seasons focused mainly on weekly monster hunts. This ended in season three when it became about saving Dean from hell, Sam and Dean's reaction's to hell and this new "war". After introducing the war, it is impossible to return to the pleasant and simple storylines of season one. I mean this far in (season four) is so focused on the war and its effects. A few weekly monster hunts are okay, sure, but not every episode. To go to a simple shape-shifter (example) and try to make it cool this season is lame, we've been there before. With so much emphasis on the war and its effects and future, it's rather lame and, quite frankly, stupid to return to the simple aspects of season one.
